Your Home and Your Property Value
When we purchase our homes, most of us consider them not only a place to live, but also an investment in our future. We should want to protect our investments! There are quite a few things you and your neighbors can do to safeguard the property value of your home.
The Ranches have taken a step towards that by forming a voluntary neighborhood association. By getting organized we are better able to defeat problems before they get out of hand.
The physical appearance of your neighborhood plays a big part in protecting or increasing your property value. This includes landscaping and caring for your lawn, maintaining the exterior of your home, keeping trash picked up and avoiding code violations. By spending time caring for your home and yard you can be an encouragement to your neighbor to do the same. We can tell you from experience that if your home is sitting next to a home with an overgrown uncared for appearance it does decrease the value of your home.
By knowing your neighbors and watching out for each other, we can keep our crime rates low. Why not consider getting more involved in our Citizens on Patrol program or at least getting to know the people on your block. Remember, be a good neighbor!
